Event information

Ivan Brackenbury's Hospital Radio Roadshow

In the UK every hospital has a community radio station. Ivan Brackenbury is an insensitive, brash, sad case, egomaniac DJ broadcasting back to one such station from the gig.

He's won Spirit of the Fringe, was nominated for the prestigious Perrier and made Chortle's Top 50 Gigs of the Decade along with Eddie Izzard, Chris Rock & Bill Cosby.

We think he's fantastic, and so do these people.

"For simple laugh-'til you ache humour, Ivan Brackenbury is THE hit of the festival" Evening Standard;
"The funniest show at the festival" The Times;

"Laughs per minute, The funniest show at the festival" Time Out;

"The most enjoyable hour at the festival" The Guardian"

Sam Avery

Friendly and enthusiastic, his observational style instantly puts audiences at ease allowing him to regale them with his tales of everyday life.

Sam has gained a reputation for being able to spark the dullest of rooms into life with his warm, infectious humour

"Works the crowd with verve and confidence...you could scarcely ask for a better opening act" - GIGGLE & FUNK

James Acaster

A hugely engaging and exciting comedian, James has recently finished supporting Josie Long on her UK tour.

His set often features story telling, audience interaction and routines about not being particularly cool. He is from the town of Kettering but is based in London. They are both cool in their own way.

"Elevating the most everyday occurrence into a grand anecdote and celebrating petty triumphs as magnificent victories." - Chortle

MC. David Morgan. Magnificently interactive.

"well crafted gags and flawless delivery" Frog and Bucket
