Friends from an exciting New York singer/songwriter community that is garnering attention worldwide, Berger, Rogers & Hawley stand out from the crowd. With internationally-syndicated television appearances, world-tours and multiple songwriting awards, it's hard to believe that each member of this trio is under 30.
As likely to have their audience in stitches as they are with a lump in their throat, all three are natural-born performers.
Playing on each other's songs as a Nashville-style songwriter circle, this will be a night to remember.
Individual bios:
Alex Berger
www.alexbergermusic.com
Citing the likes of Randy Newman, Tom Waits & George Gershwin as key influences, London-born, multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter Alex Berger is celebrating. He was recently announced as winner of Best Story Song at the Independent Music Awards for the title track of his debut album, Snow Globe, judged by Tom Waits, Seal & Anthony DeCurtis (Rolling Stone) among others. He also picked up the VOX POP 'People's Voice' award in the same category.
With growing radio support from the BBC, lots of touring & a follow-up record drawing near, life is good for this 'genuine & heartfelt talent' (Joel Crane - Q, NME).
Bess Rogers
www.bessrogers.com
Brooklynite Bess Rogers has created national recognition through her independent releases, her relentless touring, as lead guitarist and backing vocalist for Ingrid Michaelson, and most recently as the singing voice of the nationally televised Mottís For Tots advertising campaign with her song, We Believe In You (watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOqAL5uhmJE). Bess has also had other compositions featured on television shows such as Switched At Birth, One Tree Hill and Pretty Little Liars.
After nearly tripling her goal for a fan-funded album through Kickstarter, Bess will release the new record, Out Of The Ocean, this fall.
The first single, Anchor, is out now as special edigital 45 with The Beatles classic, In My Life, as the b-side.
In recent months Bess has shared the stage with Ari Hest, Lelia Broussard, Jay Brannan, Rachel Platten, Caleb Hawley and others, and is currently touring in support of her new album with Ian Axel and Allie Moss.
Caleb Hawley
www.calebhawley.com
You might recognize the Harlem based artist Caleb Hawley from season 10 of American Idol, when he had the Aerosmith icon Steven Tyler singing along and jamming out, while recognizing him as "Something new and something different" (watch the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKzWLAipq4Y). In addition to his stint in reality TV this blue-eyed soul singer has toured the country along with his "merch-dog" Fargo, playing nearly 1000 shows over the past four years. With three self-produced full-length albums under his belt, and a tour history that makes any homebody cry, this 26-year-old multi-instrumentalist is prepared to engage any crowd he comes across. It's his spontaneous live show that keeps fans coming back again and again.
