With a collection of familiar and original songs Café Musica present their warm yet quirky live performance using a variety of instruments. This
accomplished duo consists of James Weaver and Peter Banks, both residents of Mersea Island off the Essex coast, who champion high energy and entertaining acoustic music. With a varied repertoire ranging from their take on chart topping singles to the thoughtful yet more obscure album tracks, Café Musica throw new light on such gems with their arrangements and close harmony vocals. With their heritage as successful recording and touring musicians they also present some of their own compositions with a similar fresh and vibrant sound. Regardless of your musical preferences Café Musica manage to both evoke a spirit of nostalgia and also a sense of discovery with their engaging presentation.
Special guest is Phil Nelson, a London-based singer-songwriter, who was raised on the edge of the Lake District. Emerging from the early 80's London pub-rock scene and spurred on by a new wave of singer-songwriters, Phil finally began to write and perform his own songs, influenced by the likes of Nick Lowe, Squeeze, Bob Dylan and Gerry Rafferty. This culminated in the 2011 release of "About Time" his first formal collection of original material with just a hint of irony in its title! www.philnelsonmusic.co.uk
