LoCo presents 'Kickstart your
Comedy Career', 26-27 January, BFI Southbank, Blue Room

A two day course during the London Comedy Film Festival for emerging comedy filmmakers looking to break into Film and Television Comedy.

Sessions and workshops include: Directing Actors in Comedy, Meet
the Commissioners, Creating Comedy Characters, Developing Comedy, LIVE Cutting & Composing for Comedy, Does this Sound Funny? with Domino Publishing and party hosted by Domino.

With guest speakers including: Shane Allen (Channel 4), Saurabh Kakkar (ITV), Lucy Lumsden (Sky), Barnaby Thompson (Head of Studio, Ealing and producer Wayne's World), Ben Wheatley (director, Down Terrace, Kill List, Sightseers), Alice Lowe (actor/writer, Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, Hot Fuzz, Sightseers), Emma Frost (writer, Shameless, Consuming Passions, The Wars of the Roses), Paul King (director, The Mighty Boosh, Bunny and the Bull), Marc Wootton (writer/actor, Shirley Ghostman, Nativity!), Abi Blackmore (actor/writer, Pulling, Blind Date), Manish Pandey (writer, Senna, Figlio), Tim Nuthall (writer, Figlio), Misha Manson-Smith (director, Shirley Ghostman, La La Land), Adrian MacKinder (writer/producer, Robin and Josie's Utter Shambles), Olly Ralfe (Ralfe Band, Bunny and the Bull), Steve Mason (Beta Band, La La Land), and many more to be announced!

Only 50 places are available on this course to allow a small group to network with fellow filmmakers and learn from some of the most important figures in the British Comedy Industry.

Please note: This course is for new and emerging comedy film-makers: you should have made at least one short film and / or sitcom pilot. This course will be most useful to writers, directors and producers.

Each day will start at 10am and finish at roughly 6pm.

The London Comedy Film Festival runs from 26-29 January 2012 and will
feature classic screenings, brand new comedy films, a LoCo Hero day
