Celebrating the singular passions of everyday folk, the Catalyst Club is a night where three speakers take to the stage for 15 minutes each to talk about something they love.
The Catalyst Club is a unique monthly Brighton event that pays tribute to the old traditions of French Salon, debating societies and Gentleman's Clubs. Having been we had to bring it you Oxforkians to enjoy.

Richard Barnett on the history of gin
Richard Barnett has written for Strange Attractor, Time Out and The Natural Death Handbook (fifth edition, forthcoming), and is the author of Medical London: City of Diseases, City of Cures andThe Dedalus Book of Gin (published in the US by Grove Atlantic) is out now. He spends his time writing, walking, talking and broadcasting his way around the history of life and death in London.

'Post a flip flop to someone you love'. A slide show talk on the history of postal mischief, pranks and the forgotten pleasures of Mail Art.
David set up the Catalyst Club in Brighton in 2004 where it still runs today, He has given talks at the Idler Academy, TED and on Radio 4. In 2011 he won a Sony Award for the Radio 3 feature, the Haunted Moustache.
Badaude:
Holly Gramazio is a game designer for Hide&Seek, with a particular interest in live games, cities, and stories. She curates the Sandpit - a regular playing and playtesting event for developing new games - and has worked on projects from Tiny Games, thirty-word rulesets installed at the Southbank Centre, to the New Year Games, a huge game across five spaces and 12,000 players that ran in Edinburgh on 1 January 2012.
