Event information
Soiree are Sue Graves, Hector Gilchrist and Steve Poole, all stalwarts of the folk club scene around SW London and Surrey. Though well known individually and for involvement in other projects (such as Voiceover, Selkie, Noddy's Lot) they have now chosen to combine their prodigious talents and recently completed their debut album. This showcases Hector and Sue's powerful lead voices, the trio's lilting harmonies and Steve's liquid guitar arrangements. The sum total evokes the ambience and warm glow of an evening spent in the company of friends.
Their chosen repertoire is invariably melodic, easy on the ear, drawn widely from 'the Tradition', the best of contemporary song-makers, jazz influenced standards....and occasionally they even slip into unguarded and unrestrained upbeat mode.
