April Showers is First Draft's annual short play festival. After the success of 2010 and 2011's APRIL SHOWERS with writers Catie O'Keefe, Lizi Patch, Jason Harrison, Daran Johnson, Chris Lee, Chloe Todd Fordham, Annabel Wigoder and Pamela Seaton we will be greeting the Spring of 2012 with some more fresh new writing.

We were open for submissions between September - February for short plays between 10 - 30 minutes that are unpublished and have not yet been staged. A first draft.

After having received over 250 submissions for this years April Showers, First Draft once again started the festival with the March Readings, presenting staged readings of 7 selected plays in order to gather votes from the audience as well as the creatives involved as to what was chosen for the festival.

April Showers is the final selection of 4 plays. The plays will be performed over the two-week festival period accompanied by live music, talks with published playwrights and comedy.
