Red Balloon Music are proud to present a special acoustic performance from FOLKS!
FOLKS:
Folks are a six piece band from Manchester, signed to Big Flame Records, and who bring together classic song writing with emotive vocals and irresistible melodies.
After releasing their debut album, 'I See Cathedrals,' and touring the UK to support their free download track 'Avalanche,' they were noticed by a couple of well known names, Miles Kane and Noel Gallagher.
The band were subsequently invited on tour with Miles Kane throughout October 2011, as well as supporting Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on his European tour. The former Oasis frontman was so impressed with the band that he invited them to perform two of their songs on BBC Radio 2 when he covered for Dermot O'Leary later in the year.
As a six piece, Folks are incredibly tight, five instruments blending together perfectly with Anderson's vocals nestling over the top with consummate ease. Folks are all about melody and those catchy lyrics that will keep the songs in your head for the rest of the night.
Folks could well be the soundtrack to many a Summer, so make sure you catch them at this rare and intimate acoustic gig, before they head out on the Festival circuit.

Nu-folk duo Hannah and Lois, with their gorgeous instrumentation and angelic vocals, represent a thrilling prospect for Manchester music. With vocals that instantly command you to listen, accompanied by Harp and Ukulele, their music is nostalgic but also fresh. At times, their vocals are not unlike Feist, and it surely won't be long until they are heading up their own gigs.
