Lysistrata is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see inside and join the ranks of a feminist terrorist training camp. Taking over the entire Islington Metal Works, Gaggle will be demonstrating how the principles of the Ancient Greek heroine Lysistrata can change our world for the better - in our bedrooms, in our banks and in parliament. Inspired by agitators as diverse as the recent sex strikers in Tonga, Pussy Riot, June Jordan and Bill Hicks, and armed with a musical's worth of pop protest songs, Gaggle will challenge you to put your actions where your mouth is. Taking place across multiple rooms in the venue, attendees will need to arrive promptly at door time, as they will be led by members of Gaggle around to different events and actions in different spaces as the night unfolds. Expect an eye-opening and highly original evening of entertainment, taking place as part of the Illuminations series. Iceland's Sindri Eldon and his band join Gaggle as house band.
