On January 24th, we are very excited to welcome Cory Chisel as our headliner!
Cory Chisel is an old believer. You can hear it in his music - there's a wisdom beyond his years in that voice. You can see it in his story - the son of a preacher, sheltered from pop music, raised on hymns and Johnny Cash. "Mom played piano and organ, my dad did the preaching, the thing that my sister and I could add to the service was to sing." As fate would have it, the kid was born to do it.
Having released his latest album 'Old Believers' to great-acclaim and embarking on tours with the likes of Justin Townes Earle and Norah Jones, Wisconsin-based Cory Chisel and Adriel Harris are heading to the UK in 2013, and we are both delighted and privileged to have the opportunity to welcome them to Thank Folk For That Live, on January 24th.
In addition, we will have support from the wonderful Chloe Foy, a Manchester-based singer-songwriter with a voice that melts hearts. Her light, distinct vocals and poetic lyrics create a very pure, melodious and enchanting sound, which can captivate any listener. She has a varied musical style with her influences consisting of artists such as Joni Mitchell, Turin Brakes and more recently Johnny Flynn and Bon Iver.
This is set to be a stunning night of live music, in the cosy and magical Castle Hotel. Be sure to snap up a ticket before they're all gone!
