Chinese New Year - 7pm Sitting

One of the founding crew at Ben’s Canteen was Rob Lockyear, aka Brewed Boy, a top lad who absolutely loves his food. He used to regale us with stories about Mission Chinese Food in San Francisco (a restaurant within a Chinese restaurant) and New York and the food always sounded so amazing that we just wanted to get on a plane and get stuck in but sadly the budget didn’t allow for it.

Anyways, Rob came up with an awesome idea, celebrate Chinese New Year and therefore have an excuse to create a one-off homage to Mission Chinese Food… we of course said yes, so on the 13th February join Brewed Boy at Ben’s Canteen for a food based party.

There will be two sittings – one at 7pm and one at 9pm. We’ll be running the night Supper Club Style, so everyone will eat at the same time. The bar will be open before and after, those attending the early sitting will be asked to move to the bar at 8.45pm to make room for the 9pm eaters. BB’s PB Tacos
(Deep fried pork belly, pickled jicama radish, jalapeno and coriander aioli on buttery flatbreads.)

MSF Fried Rice
(Duck fat fried rice, with confit duck, crispy duck skin, seared cauliflower and shiitake.)

Coffee & Cigarette Burger
(Granulated burger patty, topped with coffee braised beef short rib, Montecristo cigar infused date jam and monterey jack.)

Milk & Cookies
(Vanilla malt shake with bacon and apple cookie.)

Milky Snixwerteers Kat
(Candy bar terrine with a Brasillian Santa Alina cold brew coffee beer.)
