Named after a Danish fairy tale possessing a similar air of magic and menace, Esben and the Witch are a 3 piece band hailing from the shores of Brighton. The band are currently touring their second album, 'Wash the Sins Not Only the Face' which was released in January to critical acclaim, described by NME as, '...a thing of condensed-breath beauty. Splendid voodoo blitz of lust, violence and fragmented electronics.' With lyrics inspired by Sylvia Plath and T.S Eliot coupled with enticingly bleak and haunting melodies, we can't think of a more apt setting than the stained glass shadowed interior of St Clements Church.
