A charity gig in memory of Folk On fan Jon Fredrickson who lost his hard fought battle with brain tumours last year. Proceeds from this event are going to help fund research through 'The Jon Fredrickson Fund' through 'The Brain Tumour Charity'.
An evening of music and laughter with this popular Gloucestershire band. To include such classics as: 'Ernie the Slug', 'Dad I'm In Love With A Morris Dancer' and 'I Can't Marry You As My Horse Has Just Died'.
Who the folk are Folk On?
Something's stirring in the village of Little Dribblepatch ... it's Derek Tinkleberry, Donald Cornfoot and Edmund Sidebottam, otherwise known as Folk On - the finest comedy folk band since The Hay Bale Boys (and who remembers them?). The story of Folk On is one of overcoming adversity, unity in diversity, and life in a very small village in the West Country.
Folk On write and play songs of unity and joining together, of solving conflicts and unyielding happiness ... with the occasional song about a dead horse, pants or Morris dancers Folk On's sound is honest and pure, with tight rural harmonies and delicate mix of many different acoustic instruments. Sometimes raucous, sometimes reflective, the music of Folk On always brings a smile to the face and a tear to the eye of the listener.
