Alice Lewis spent her early years in England. She recorded her first songs while at The Ecole des Beaux Arts, Paris where her work with soundtracks, installations, audio engineering and her singing practice, gradually led her towards writing music. After graduating, she did a number of commissions for short films, dance productions and commercials (including ads by David Lynch and Patrice Leconte). She also composed part of the original soundtrack for the feature film "The Fox and the Child" (2008) by Luc Jacquet (director of the award-winning "March of the Penguins"). Alice's mesmerising stage performances combine an ethereal and unique voice with unusual instruments such as the omnichord. Her interest in other musical forms has taken her around the world, including Beijing, to study Peking Opera, and Taipei, to learn the Chinese zither, the Guzheng. Her debut album, recorded in the UK and France and produced by Ian Caple (Tricky, The Tindersticks, Stina Nordenstam), was released in October 2010, on French record label "Naïve". She has just finished recording her second album.
