Event information
Orchestre D.C. Dansette is quite simply a dance band. Inspired chiefly by the music of the African continent, from the drive of Congolese soukous and Kenyan benga to the mellower styles of Malian kora or Ethiopian music. Guitar driven but with a jazz-anchored horn section and lyrics taken from the likes of presidential speeches, newspaper reviews and philosophical treatises, this is joyously inauthentic and idiosyncratic dance music!
