Taking to the Village Underground in Shoreditch for one night only, CME presents two of the most prolific and influential DJs within dance music. One forever synonymous with the world renowned Notting Hill Carnival, and the second one of the originators and godfathers of house music. Please join us for an extraordinary evening in the company of Norman Jay MBE and Mr Marshall Jefferson!
Arguably one of the finest and most respected DJs in the world today, few can say they have been awarded an MBE for their musical career, but in June 2002 Norman was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive just such an honour. With a history spanning over two decades and counting, Norman Jay is most famously known for his ‘Good Times’ bus which draws thousands of people year upon year at the Notting Hill Carnival. On June 28th he’ll be delving into his endless record box for a special Good Times set!
Widely regarded as one of the leading originators of Chicago house music, Marshall Jefferson takes to the turntables for this truly momentous occasion. Best known for inventing that squelchy acid house sound, he also conquered deep house early on, releasing the first track to ever use a piano... and the rest is history. Living a bit of a resurgence of late in the club circuit Marshall Jefferson remains now as relevant as he ever was.
Join us for a night of stonking dance floor action at this East London institution. Dancing shoes essential!
