Award-winning Romanian-born singer and puppeteer, Monooka (aka Monica Lucia Madas) performs traditional songs from the Carpathian mountains in collaboration with British Balkan music specialists Meg Hamilton (violin), Matt Bacon (guitar) and Shane Allessio (double bass). Ottoman and Greek influences blend with soulful Jewish melody, Wallachian gypsy music and traditional Transylvanian doinas. www.monooka.com
