The Hidden Perspectives Festival has arrived!

You are invited to an all day event full of amazing performers, storytellers, poets, musicians, academics and art. Full details of all the participants that you can expect to see are slowing being announced on our blog and a full program will be up in early May so keep checking back for more details.

In the evening there will be an afterparty hosted by LaDIYfest, with live music performances from ONSIND, Andrew Lips, A Womb of One's Own and Sophia Pettit and there will be a bar with a very special limited edition Blue Bee Brewery ale specially brewed for the festival!

Tickets will be available for £3 that gives you access to the whole day and evening with the money raised from this being donated to The Sheena Amos Trust which supports young LGBT people. Details of how to get a ticket in advance will be announced shortly or you can just turn up on the day.


"Hidden Perspectives: Bringing the Bible Out of the Closet" is a large-scale pioneering public engagement project that aims to open up interpretations of biblical narratives to underrepresented groups. The project is a jointly organised by Dr. Katie Edwards at The University of Sheffield and LaDIYfest Sheffield.

Hidden Perspectives encourages inclusive discussion on dominant interpretations of biblical texts and narratives found in scholarship and mainstream culture. Working with groups and individuals from a range of faith and non-faith backgrounds, this ambitious project aims to foster an atmosphere of inclusivity and diversity in which biblical texts can be interpreted.

In 2013 the project will focus on sexuality, gender and the Bible and intersecting issues relating to identity, diversity and representation. The festival event will be Saturday June 1st at The Workstation, Sheffield, with details of other events to be announced shortly.
