This Day and Age bring a second installment of underground electronics, ensconced within the hallowed walls of the Lit and Phil Library:

RAINER VEIL (Modern Love)
Hailing from a fertile Manchester electronic scene which has spawned some of the most rewarding productions of the last few years, this duo (comprised of Liam Morley and Dan Valentine) made waves earlier this year with their debut 'Struck' EP. Released on the none-more-estimable Modern Love label, the EP is a lesson in evocative greyscale electronics a la Andy Stott in 'Luxury Problems' mode, with chamber-like vocals offering both mournful accompaniment and glimpses of serenity. Their Boiler Room set was the highlight of a sterling Modern Love showcase, and their show at the Lit and Phil library promises to be a spine-tingling affair:

WILT WAGNER (Neen Records/ A Glimpse Of Paradise)
Newcastle's own Wilt Wagner brings the party with drum machines and synthesizers, aided with the kind of sardonic vocals that'll bring a tear to John Maus' eye. The brains behind the amazing A Glimpse of Paradise shows, Wilt has a groove for everybody and should not be missed:
