EC1's first ever micro cinema presents the final film in the 'Dreams of Escape' season: SUNRISE, by F.W. Murnau
Murnau's 1927 silent, black & white fairytale is a story of clandestine lovers, murder and a marriage rekindled. Made just as cinema took a turn for the realistic with the introduction of sound, Sunrise is a glorious last hurrah for silent film and a magical, haunting masterpiece.
Hosting the evening will be writer/director John Jencks. Jencks is currently working on an experimental improvised short film and his debut feature The Fold, starring Catherine McCormack and Dakota Blue Richards, will have its market premiere in Cannes this month. John will lead a discussion after the film.
Tucked away under Exmouth Market, The Shadow Box has surround sound, a tip top projection system, comfy chairs and sofas, and our resident friendly poodle Rafa.
As always, your ticket to The Shadow Box includes popcorn and welcome drink.
And remember, with only 30 seats, tickets sell out fast.
