Irish born Grainne Duffy is a unique talent, raw and powerful, edgy and elegant. Growing up in Co. Monaghan, her love of music and performing was evident from a very young age. While at secondary school she and her sisters formed a band and began playing the local circuit - Grainne on vocals and electric guitar!

It was while studying music at university that Grainne began experimenting with penning her own material and in 2007 she recorded her debut album 'Out of the Dark'. This first release received such instant critical acclaim that Grainne Duffy suddenly became the 'must have' artist on Ireland's festival circuit. Grainne was also asked to appear for 3 days at Glastonbury 2008 where she and band opened the Acoustic stage, being billed alongside the likes of Joan Baez, Suzanne Vega, Sinead O Connor, Seasick Steve and The Blockheads, to name but a few.

In 2011, between their ever increasing touring schedules, Grainne recorded her second album 'Test of Time' - mixed in Capitol Studios L.A. by Niko Bolas, who has worked with Neil Young, Rod Stewart, Stan Getz, Herbie Hancock, Keith Richards... and mastered by Grammy award winner Richard Dodd in Nashville.

Earlier in the year Grainne released the first single from the album - 'I Know Were Gonna Be Just Fine' to coincide with her Irish theatre tour. The single has had a great deal of airplay and made the BBC Northern Ireland playlist, and has recently received wonderful reviews from BBC Radio 2 producers and presenters alike.
Grainne Duffy's wonderful mix of blues rock and soul in her original material and her treatment of a few carefully selected standards charged with true emotion and feeling can win over any audience and leave you begging for more.
