Catfish Keith has established himself as one of the most exciting country blues performers of our time. Since 1992, Catfish Keith has been building a steady fan base here in the UK and Europe – 2012 sees him celebrating 20 years of European tour dates.
He took part in a nationwide theatre tour of the UK with fellow US guest artists on The American Festival of The Blues as well as touring solo annually appearing at small intimate gigs. He’s headlined on various UK and European festivals and been featured on the covers of many blues magazines. He’s appeared with John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray, Koko Taylor, Taj Mahal, Leo Kottke, Ray Charles and others!
The Guardian called Catfish Keith “… a solo revelation, breaking new ground for blues.” The British Blues Connection nominated him for Best Overseas Artist calling him “The new slide king of the National Steel Guitar.” Blueprint said “.. his vocals and guitar sound are instantly recognizable… his picking is as sharp and decorative as ever… his slide work is as vibrant as it can get… his vocals richer and more expressive than ever.”
Acoustic Guitar wrote “one of the most exciting guitarists of any genre…completely irresistible.”
Other notable quotes include…
“This man is flat out spectacular!”
“Keith’s guitar and slide work are outstanding and his obvious love and enthusiasm for his material catches you up in the fun.”
“It seems Catfish Keith can’t miss.. keep ‘em coming, Catfish.”
“Always entertaining and fresh. Catfish has got the goods!”
Catfish is in the Blues Who’s Who and tours internationally. His dedication to revitalizing an almost lost art form testifies to his love of the music, whilst continuing to make new discoveries on his lifelong blues quest. Perhaps one of the most important aspects of his music is that listening to Catfish Keith is … ………………………. fun !
Keith's foot-stomping, spellbinding Delta and roots music gives blues a finger-snapping funky edge. Blues singer, songwriter and bottleneck slide guitarist Catfish Keith has established himself as one of the most exciting country blues performers of our time with his dynamic stage show. A two-time W. C. Handy Award nominee for BEST ACOUSTIC BLUES ALBUM, Catfish has ten NUMBER ONE independent radio chart-topping albums to his credit. " ... Catfish Keith isn't your usual dude. His 13-track gem, Sweet Pea, indulges the juiciest blues licks, giving in fully to the ache, the grind, that sensation which feels so good, it hurts. .... It's certainly not every day that a blues album of this quality comes through our doors and even less common that after the end of the day, the album gets played again and again for deeper listening."
