UK’s favourite jazz pianist visits Wakefield in a new setting

One of the most sought after pianists in the country, Dave is busy accompanying singers, guesting with big bands, in duo with Alan Barnes and playing solo or with his long established trio. This new trio is drum-free, but with the sophisticated playing of guitarist Colin Oxley. The highly regarded guitarist plays in a warm and fluid style and will provide opportunities for gentle rhythm, unison virtuosity and further soloing. The trio plays a mixture of (less than hackneyed) standards and Newton originals.
Their new CD was recorded to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Trio records and acknowledges the standing of all three musicians .
