Stand up for Labour returns to Ilford following a great Christmas event last year.
Gráinne Maguire knows as much about the vagaries of coalition government as she does about Cheryl Cole’s relationship choices. She writes for a wide range of websites and newspapers including the Evening Standard and The Independent. She also writes and has appeared on Radio 4. At last year’s Labour Conference she was a warm up act for Ed Miliband! She was also a great success at her first Stand up for Labour event in Eastbourne.
Spontaneous Combustion are an impro group, who include Luke Sorba (from the Comedy Store Players). They have been a great success at Stand up for Labour events in Ipswich, Croydon, Ealing and Bethnal Green.
Joe Wells has had an incredible reception at every Stand up for Labour event he has performed at: from Rotherham to Brighton, Croydon to Chiswick. His act uses satire, anecdote and poetry to devastating effect as he tears apart targets like the EDL, the Tories and Richard Littlejohn.
Your host for the night is Paul Ricketts, an accomplished stand-up comedian who has had great success at the Edinburgh Festival and carried the Stand up for Labour banner at the Future That Works demonstration.
