starts off as understated polite indie pop with acoustic guitars and a campfire singalong vibe. ...though they ditch the quiet is the new loud vibe and hit a spacey pop vein that makes the icky melodies much better and makes me do a complete volte face! Comes on a bit Pink Floyd then they up the gears more and go for some nigh on hardcore dynamics via awkward squad post rock and post punkery and a touch of a grunge lunge. Now my turn around is complete- this is really rather good!The English- Vocally epic sounding indie rock with a dollop of '80s about it..the chap's voice is a ringer for Roddy Frame and Aztec Camera could be a bit of a touchstone all told....also Bunnymen, Chameleons et al..and it all prowls along pleasingly enough in a post Joy Div minimal post punk indie manner. A bit Glas Vegas too. Ziggurats-'Picture Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly jamming reggae rhythms, fired with a lyrical vigilante inspired by the likes of Plan B and The Streets. 'Ziggurats are the sound of the search for hedonistic freedom we all crave, they are a reminder that we should never stop asking questions in life'
