BIG UNIT
Big Unit are a Manchester-based band fronted by 808 State’s Darren Partington and perform a style of music dubbed Acid Rock, fusing Acid House and Rock & Roll, and taking influence from such greats as Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, The Stone Roses, Beastie Boys and Led Zeppelin. Big Unit are currently working on their debut album and to date have only officially released one track, the epic Get Fucked. On Saturday 7th September 2013 Manchester’s Big Unit will return to Newcastle’s Think Tank? at Hoults Yard to headline a Mallaz presents... event*. September will be Big Unit’s second live appearance in Newcastle following an awe-inspiring performance at a warehouse party at Think Tank? with Happy Mondays legend Bez, ex-Newcastle United and Columbia football star Faustino Asprilla and reputed local DJ Dean Paul Walton at the beginning of April 2013.
