Dan hails from Canada's Nova Scotia, an area rich in the musical and cultural traditions of the North Atlantic, and his warm baritone voice, superb guitar arrangements and original compositions have understandably won him awards and widespread praise. His performance covers the entire folk spectrum, with themes traditional, historical, contemporary and universal. In addition to solo performances and recordings, his talent has enabled him to perform with Symphony Nova Scotia and in a theatre show about the life and times of the great Canadian songwriter Stan Rogers. As well as working extensively in Canada, he regularly tours in the UK, and has also ventured a tour of south-eastern Australia. With thirty years of performing and numerous CDs, there's a wealth of experience and knowledge there. According to one of the most prolific and respected reviewers in the UK, Dan is "blessed with a gorgeous voice, and an exceptional command of phrasing, light and shade", and he continues to convey his finely crafted songs to audiences old and new.
