Many people will be aware of Lester Simpson as a member of the internationally acclaimed a capella trio Coope, Boyes & Simpson, who perform throughout Britain, as well as in Europe, America and New Zealand. But there's much more to Lester than just unaccompanied harmony singing. As a songwriter, actor, musician and broadcaster, he has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and as Musical Director of 'Private Peaceful' in Belgium, as well as being commissioned to write many musical presentations. He teaches, runs workshops and a community choir, works with youngsters in The Tall Ships Youth Trust, and with the elderly in care homes. He also plays melodeon and bagpipes! With a voice that could melt butter, his singing is emotive, strong and challenging, but in spite of his undoubted abilities, he rarely does solo gigs (he probably doesn't have the time!), so this is an unusual chance to hear this exceptional man, who Mike Harding described as having 'shed loads of talent'.
