Alice and Matthew are members of touring band Dead Like Harry. After several years of touring with the band Alice and Matthew decided they wanted to explore a more acoustic based, folk sound, and set about writing a collection of songs that reflect their interest in acoustic singer-songwriters and English and Scottish folk music.
Matthew has been songwriting and performing his songs since his early teens and in 2004 was joined by former classmate Alice who brought her own interpretation to the songs. After several years travelling with Dead Like Harry, Alice and Matthew wrote and recorded Winter Sky, their debut EP, during a snowy week in Sheffield at the end of 2011. The EP is a collection of songs inspired by the season and resulted in the duo doing their first gigs outside of the electric band.
Throughout 2012 the pair continued to play their EP live while working on new material and during the summer Matt had several of his songs chosen for use on Channel 4’s Hollyoaks TV show as well having his song 1000 Miles used by Sky Sports. They have performed at several outdoor festivals, including Ely Folk Festival, Cornbury Festival, Green Man, Off The Tracks, Glastonbury (2009), Merry Tom Festival, Spratton Folk Festival, Tramlines Festival and have supported bands as varied as Ezio, Connie Lush, Chumbawamba, The Strawbs, Scouting For Girls and Mostly Autumn.
In 2013 Alice and Matthew will be recording their first album and will be continuing to hone their new songs in a live environment by playing a host of summer festivals.
