Town House is an 18th century weaver’s house on Fournier Street, opposite Hawksmoor’s Christ Church, just near the junction of Commercial and Brushfield Streets in Spitalfields. The building has been a doctor’s surgery, a furrier, coffee rooms and storage for the vegetable market, until at the end of the Second World War it became the Market Cafe, which closed in 2000. The building was then acquired, restored and renovated by Fiona, who runs the antiques, tea and coffee shop, hosts occasional art exhibitions and now, Disappearing Dining Club.
Dinner is served supper club style, sharing a table and family style dishes on the second and fourth Fridays of every month in the ground floor antiques shop, where you’ll be surrounded with antique furniture and upholstery, old china, glasses, serving dishes, colourful modern pottery, and locally sourced artefacts and objects.
Dinners will be £60 per person, including 4 courses, welcome Grey Goose Le Fizz cocktail and wine with dinner.
