A bit of a change from our 4th Saturday concerts as it was a bit too close to Christmas, so on the 2nd Saturday, we have big favourite Jez Lowe, and Bad Pennies colleague Kate Bramley performing 'A Christmas List', a slanted look at the festive season. Jez not only has an enviable reputation as a songwriter and performer in the acoustic music scene throughout the world, but must make a small fortune in copyright fees from the number of his compositions performed and recorded by other top class musicians. In recent years, as well as pretty constant touring, he has been involved in the writing and recording of the new Radio Ballads, inspired by Ewan MacColl's original series of that name back in the 1950s. Kate is a fiddler and vocalist who was brought up in Cornwall and absorbed much of her 'folk' background there, before training as a theatre writer and director. After collaborating with Jez on a millennium commission, she joined Jez's band, The Bad Pennies, and has enjoyed a busy touring and recording schedule ever since. Shammick Acoustic is very lucky to have the chance of this one-off Christmas show from two highly talented artists.
