This is the second of our “spotted in Edinburgh” artists. Unlike many stand-ups who struggle for years to raise chuckles from blank-faced crowds, Joe rocketed onto the scene. He did his first gig in the Comedy Store as part of a charity show in 2008. Just a year later he won the Chortle Student Award and was runner up in the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year. In 2012 he won the Fosters’ Best Newcomer Award at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has been seen on Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2), 8 Out Of 10 Cats (Channel 4) and heard as resident news hound on Josh Widdicombe's XFM radio show. In his charmingly camp storytelling style, he meanders through the topics of sexuality, pizza and alter egos, keeping the jokes accessible and refreshing. But it is his relationship with his audience which really carries the day. He has natural charm and loveable cheekiness in spades. The packed audience we saw in Edinburgh certainly loved him. We think you will too.
