Black is the pseudonyn for smoky-voiced singer-songwriter Colin Vearncombe who enjoyed mainstream success in the late 1980s with hits such as "Wonderful Life" and "Sweetest Smile as well as several acclaimed albums. His sophisticated jazz-pop songs and dramatic vocal delivery have been described as placing him somewhere between Bryan Ferry and Morrissey.
Special guest, DAGNY is a Norwegian singer songwriter that has blossomed from a musical background in Tromsø in the very north of Norway. In many ways her music reflects her personality; a folk/pop sound infused with eternal optimism, yet mixed with a more questioning and melancholic expression. Over the last few years she's been actively writing and performing both locally and internationally. She has toured Norway several times as a solo artist, as well as with her band. Dagny recenrly completed an extensive Living Room Tour in the north of Norway and is now residing in London where a busy autumn schedule of concerts and festivals in the UK take her through to the release of her debut single and album in Q1, 2014.
Dagny is no stranger to the live stage - she opened for Sir Elton John, playing a crowd of over 10,000 people in March 2012 and later the same year she was the exclusive support for Sting at the Impact Arena in Bangkok. She has also played one of Norway's largest festivals Øyafestivalen and supported Norwegian artists like Maria Mena, Ida Jenshus, Jarle Berhoft, and Violet Road. Now a firm favourite on the indie fokl/pop scene in London, Dagny is attracting signficant attention from all quarters.
DAGNY is also a brand ambassador for Quiksilver Women and Roxy. She has been featured in magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Det Nye. In February 2013, she did a very successful 35 show Living Room tour around Norway. The most recent tour has been filmed and regualr videos are being posted through National Media in Norway as well as on YouTube.
Having just made a smash hit on BBC Radio London featuring "live in session" on the Gaby Roslin show, Dagny has a busy couple of months ahead - gigging and putting the finishing touches on recordings for her debut album with the likes of Mark "Kipper" Eldridge (Sting) and Ruadhri Cushnan (Ed Sheeran, Mumford and Sons, Björk). DAGNY's goals and dreams revolve around the desire to live only from her music and she is happiest when she is out there sharing her songs.
