They are a huge favourite at Weyfest and have played here at the RLC every year… whether we ask them to or not!!
Influences of the band are Levellers, Fairport Convention, Hawkwind and Wolfstone to name but a very small few.
The True Deceivers
The True Deceivers have been developing their own blend of rootsy folk rock/Americana since their formation in 2003. Former Blazing Homesteads Nick Bliss (guitar, mandolin, harmonica, vocals), Dee Coley (bass) and the late and sadly missed Mark Mitchell (fiddle) were joined by former Plenty frontman Graham Firth (vocals, guitar) and Jamie Legg (drums) and have since become favourites on Surrey music scene and regulars at festivals including Guilfest, Weyfest, Haslemere and Bearded Theory. Chris "Spud" Edwards joined the band on fiddle at the start of 2013
Since 2012 the True Deceivers have reverted to their full electric line-up, which they had temporarily swapped for a more stripped-down acoustic sound following Mark’s untimely death in 2009. 2012 also saw the long-awaited release of the band’s second album, Hell or High Water, which built on the critically-acclaimed song writing and vocal harmonies of their 2007 debut Lies We Have Told..

STEViE's music is gutsy, edgy and raw - a hardcore, barstool troubadour - with a voice as raw as cigarettes and single malt in a backstreet bar late on a Saturday night
