A Night Of Psychedleic Sights & Sounds #2
The Watchmakers - Live at The Castle Hotel, Manchester
DJ's and Support TBC
Facebook: The Watchmakers (Band page) or TheWatchmakers HQ
"One of the best home demos I've heard in ages......QUALITY" (MIKEY JONNS, THIS FEELING)
"Imagine if Noel Gallagher’s solo record had actually been willing to cut loose and explore its boundaries, and you might be arriving something near to their sound" (DROWNED IN SOUND)
The cornerstone of The Watchmakers neo-psychedelic sound is taken from the classic '60s rock n' roll sounds of Velvet Underground, 13th Floor Elevators, The Beatles, etc. alongside post-modern influences such as The Brian Jonestown Massacre, BRMC, Primal Scream and The Verve. Although their influences are transparent, they have created a distinctive identity using a variety of sounds including Indian drones, reverse guitar and modern day synthesisers.
Following Support slots with the likes of The Pretty Things, Jacco Gardner and Exit Calm the band recently played 2 very well received nights headlining for THIS FEELING in London and Manchester.
Their first demo - a one track practice room home demo 'Before Questions Came' - has gained more reviews and column inches than more established acts, and led to seasoned music lovers and music industry insiders clamouring for more. Their Second demo 'Waves' released in September has also received rave reviews and demonstrates The Watchmakers ability to create a diverse but distinctive sound.
The success of these early home demo's and live shows has also earned the band regular airplay on BBC Introducing where they were recent Session guests for Michelle Hussey on BBC Introducing in Manchester.
