Opening our new series of live music in the museum, these three tangy, opinionated, international women will excite with their sultry vocals and versatile musicianship: Katerina Clambaneva (vocals), Muzmee (violin) and Olympia Tsarouchi (guitar and vocals). With Greek roots music at this trio’s core and all the traditions and historical worlds it touches.
They met in the lively Rebetiko music scene in London and the diversity of their musical backgrounds – from Classical to Latin American, from Byzantine Chant to Ska, from Turkish rhythms to Russian Polyphony - means they have an intoxicating range of colours and flavours to draw upon. What unites them in spirit is their love for Greek music and all the traditions and historical worlds it touches, from the Balkans to the Greek Islands, from the Black Sea to the mountains of Epirus.
PAKAW!’s performances radiate a unique energy, always capturing their vibrant audience.. They have played in a range of venues all over London including the National Theatre, St Ethelburga's and the Arts Depot and have participated in the SOAS World Music festival amongst others.
There is a cash bar. The museum is a 2 minute walk from Rotherhithe Station.
