Here at Square Roots towers, we're delighted to be promoting a show for this wonderful 5 piece band all the way from Lewes - their new album "100 Miles From Town" is as exciting an album as we've heard for a while, and we're really looking forward to seeing them make their Portsmouth debut in the historic confines of our awesome Square Tower!
The Jamie Freeman Agreement are "the UK's very own Americana virtuosos" (Spiral Earth).
With their latest release '100 Miles From Town' they "set about defining English Americana" (FATEA) with a mix of styles embracing folk, country and echoes of the 60's.
Delivering a "robust and thoroughly competent collection of roots-rock anthems” (Americana UK) they are "a prime example of how we can compete over here with the best over there" (Three Chords & The Truth).
Testament to the quality of Jamie's songwriting is the roster of names happy to lend themselves to the latest album; Mark Chadwick (executive producer), Larkin Poe, Brandy Zdan (Twilight Hotel), Good Lovelies, BJ Cole and Richard Smith all feature.
He has been a musician and songwriter all his life. He is the brother of acting sensation Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Sherlock) and spent time playing with late 80's synth-popsters Frazier Chorus, led by another talented brother, Tim.
Jamie produced the critically-acclaimed 'Not Waving But Drowning' by The Self Help Group.
