Dizraeli & The Small Gods return to play their largest London headline show to date at Scala on the 5th June 2014. The band have established a reputation for their impassioned live performances, with 2013 proving to be a massive year for the band with highlights including playing a packed Leftfield tent at Glastonbury Festival, and a huge UK tour in support of their recent LP ‘Moving in the Dark’. MC Dizraeli’s scintillating lyrical rhythmic folkisms have as much panache and charisma as they do raw aggression and attitude and the group have deservedly earned themselves something approaching a cult for their live shows. If you love hip-hop or folk music, this show is not to be missed!
Consisting of 7 members including three times world female beatbox champion Bellatrix, the group formed in 2009 to tour Dizraeli’s debut solo album Engurland (City Shanties). Within a year the band had been invited to play on prestigious stages around the country, from Glastonbury’s West Holts stage to London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall. In the words of the band themselves, “we want to tingle your spine, nod your head and generally folk with your idea of what hiphop can be”.
Dizraeli & the Small Gods play a folked, melodic and unashamedly heartfelt reinvention of hip-hop and Soundcrash are thrilled to have them play at what promises to be a very special show.
