LAUGHARNE: Millennium Memorial Hall

FRI 1ST AUG, 2014 Doors 7pm concert start 7.30pm

Peter Knight’s Gigspanner make a welcome return to Laugharne for another summer evening concert which is not to be missed. They seamlessly embrace a wide range of musical styles with consummate skills and effortless grace. A bedrock of British traditional music is to be expected from ex Steeleye Span’s legendary fiddle player, but Gigspanner’s musical reach probes into Eastern European, French, World and African influences. If you have a taste for “music of intelligently crafted brilliance” (Songlines Magazine) there is something here to nurture your soul. “Intelligent, multi-lingual music making’’ (Julian Cowley, The Wire). "Peter’s ability to turn the fiddle to dozens of uses has to be seen to be believed" (Patrick Ovenden, Tenby Observer). It is not hard to imagine Peter Knight spinning the world on his bow, now that Terry Pratchett has pointed out the possibility.
