WOUNDED KNEE / THE MOON, THE SON AND THE DAUGHTERS
SUNDAY 16 MARCH 2014, 7.00PM
This month's North with the Lights by the Sea is going to be pretty special. On Sunday 16 March we'll be joined by Leith-based singer and experimental vocalist Wounded Knee and the London-based band The Moon, The Son and The Daughters!
WOUNDED KNEE is one of the most interesting one-man shows around. Having played the circuit since 2004, he's made his name experimenting with form - inspired as much by minimal techno as folk. There is also a distinct political edge to his work - which I believe we donít hear often enough. Wounded Knee currently runs two labels (Krapp Tapes and Weird Fidelity) and has had his music released by Benbecula, Gerry Loves Records and Matching Head. Check him out on his website (www.iamwoundedknee.com). This is going to be good.
I came across THE MOON, THE SON AND THE DAUGHTERS through their lovely singer Anna. I then discovered she had a very talented brother who - it turns out - she spends her summers touring with to festivals with this great band. Beautiful harmonies, sweet songs and overflowing with charm this sibling duo are going to be delighting our ears and senses. Check the band out on their bandcamp (www.themoonthesonandthedaughters.bandcamp.com).
See you there for another Sunday evening treat!
