Natalie Clark launches her EP in one of Glasgows best venues Broadcast
NATALIE CLARK BIO
Scottish singer/songwriter Natalie Clark is gaining a reputation for her combination of beautifully soulful vocals with honest yet catchy songwriting. A variety of influences are evident in her songs and performances, ranging from timeless classics, such as Billie Holiday, Etta James and Carole King through to current artists such as Emeli Sande, Regina Spektor and Adele.
Natalie began her musical career at the age of 14 when she made her debut performance on the Scottish jazz circuit. She then performed regularly as a jazz vocalist around her hometown of Glasgow in Scotland. Encouraged at this early stage by several legendary, Scottish singers including Carol Kidd and Fiona Duncan, at just 16 years old, Natalie was a key member of the initial group who went on to form the Fiona Duncan Vocal Workshops as part of the Glasgow International Jazz Festival.
Her early musical beginnings culminated in her being invited to attend a series of masterclasses at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (alumni including Quincy Jones, John Mayer). This is where her songwriting career began by chance when she was invited to put her early poetry to music for a workshop. Having won various awards for her poetry at a young age, Natalie realised her passion for combining music with words and her first song was written!
Natalie has recorded her debut E.P that is due for release. Radio stations up and down the country have play listed tracks from her forthcoming debut E.P, with Radio Clyde stalwart Billy Sloan commenting " with her great voice and great songs, we will be hearing a lot more of Natalie Clark "
Natalie's debut release 'Eagles' will be launched and released on June 19th with a live performance at Broadcast in Glasgow. Soon after she will be heading stateside to embark on a tour of the west coast of America
