We are delighted to host an evening with the fabulous Jim Causley & Lukas Drinkwater.

Five times BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominee Jim Causley is a singer/accordionist who is passionate about traditional song and particularly that of his native Devon.

Jim recorded an album of the poems of his distant relative, Charles Causley to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of this celebrated Cornish poet. Jim has set to music a diverse selection of Causley’s poems to give the audience a taster of the poet’s great body of work.

The album Cyprus Well was recorded live in Charles Causley's house in Launceston, Cornwall and many of the tracks feature Charles' own piano. The album also features guest appearances from vocalist Julie Murphy of Welsh band Fernhill, Canadian harpist Ceri Owen-Jones, Jiggerypipery’s fiddler Carl Allerfeldt plus native Cornish ambassadors Dalla and revered guitarist Pete Berryman’s trio PB3.

He is joined by guitarist Lukas Drinkwater. Lukas is best known as the bassist with festival favourites 3 Daft Monkeys, and for his solo work. Jim & Lukas have been working together since 2013.

Jim Causley's Cyprus Well made The Telegraph's Top 10 Folk Albums of 2013'The whole album evokes the graceful charm and character of a true English gentleman from a bygone age.' ★★★★ The Telegraph
