The FSO's 93rd season gets off to an exciting start with a varied programme of 19th century music. Our first soloist, Clare Howick, is considered one of the leading violinists of her generation. She has made a variety of recordings, including one exclusively of British women composers, and in her hands, the Bruch concerto is certain to be splendid. Many FSO players have asked for Brahms' Symphony No 3, which was last played in 1997, and it seems appropriate that a beautiful rarity by his friend and colleague, Dvorak, is included in the same programme.
