THE ROY ORBISON & DEL SHANNON STORY

HUNTINGDON: Commemoration Hall

SAT 20TH SEP, 2014 Doors 7.00pm - Show Starts 7.45pm

Roy Orbison and Del Shannon had much in common.....dynamic vocal styles, dramatic song structures and exceptional song-writing skills – plus their intrinsic links to the Traveling Wilburys – along with the lasting legacy they have left on popular music.
This ‘must-see’ multi-media show, performed by Mike VanDetta, includes 30+ songs – spanning 5 decades – with Mike singing all the hits and more – and is complemented by a biographical narrative – giving a rare insight into Roy and Del’s truth-is-stranger-than-fiction personal lives.
Mike has been a session singer - a published songwriter - and performed with such diverse acts as jazz-pop-r&b maestro Georgie Fame and folk-blues legend John Martyn.
So, if you’re a fan of these pop icons from the golden age of the 60’s – treat yourself to a double helping of their never-to-be-forgotten music including: Runaway, Little Town Flirt, Hats Off to Larry, Only The Lonely, In Dreams, It’s Over plus many more...
