"An absolutely superb guitarist ... reminiscent of John Martyn" - Bob Harris, Radio 2.

"Sean Taylor is a wonderfully talented modern troubadour whose sincere, thoughtful songs pull you in. I've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with him. He swings. Check him out!" - Eric Bibb

'Chase The Night' is the latest album from Sean Taylor.

Sean Taylor is a London-based singer and songwriter who plays guitar, piano and harmonica and has deservedly acquired some influential admirers. The album was recorded in Texas with producer and multi-instrumentalist Mark Hallman, who adds anything from bass and drums to banjo and organ. And there's even an appearance from the great Danny Thompson, famed for his work with John Martyn. It's easy to see why they are impressed. Taylor is a fine guitarist who can also handle anything from atmospheric, brooding ballads to chugging rockers, but whose best songs are studies of London life. Biddy Mulligans – a moody, sad-edged lullaby about a bar on Kilburn High Road in London – is a slinky, upbeat love song to the city, while River is an exuberant poem about the Thames, spoken over a sturdy blues-rock backing. Other songs are just as distinctive; Sean Taylor is definitely a man to watch.

In 2009, Sean was booked onto the main Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury Festival playing to over three thousand people and selling out within minutes of the stock of CDs he took with him. Exactly the same thing happened when he supported John Fogerty (Creedence Clearwater) in Switzerland.

Over the last few years Sean has played at scores of festivals both in the UK and the rest of Europe, including three stages at Glastonbury, Blue Balls in Lucerne, Tolpuddle Martyrs, Tenby Blues and the Broadstairs Folk Week. Apart from his many and varied headline shows he has also supported a wide array of notable artistes including the Neville Brothers, George Benson, John Fogerty, Band of Horses, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Dukes, Nine Below Zero, Big Joe Turner, Curved Air, Otis Grand, The Groundhogs and Chicken Shack to name but a few. He has also played over a dozen gigs as part of ‘Love Music, Hate Racism’ campaign and wherever he performs he is always asked back.

Sean has rapidly grown to be one of the hottest new names in the UK blues/acoustic scene. His incredible passion for performance, sheer talent and songwriting of the highest calibre is a testament to his frequent comparisons with John Martyn, Chris Isaak and Tom Waits.

He's had extensive coverage and outstanding reviews in publications such as ‘Uncut’, ‘Maverick’, ‘Classic Rock’, ‘Acoustic Guitar’ and ‘Rock N’ Reel’ to name but a few, and has been often accredited by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris and Mike Harding.
