“The Low and Lucky Tour”
The Low and Lucky Tour sees two of Europe's greatest - and arguably hardest working - roots rock bands join together for a truly unforgettable night.
Lowlands from Italy and The Lucky Strikes from the UK have been meeting in various countries to share their songs and stories with audiences. Releasing limited edition EPs to support their tours, the Low and Lucky shows are not to be missed, especially this one as special guests are Italian legends MANDOLIN' BROTHERS making their long-awaited London debut!
Debut London show for this veteran Italian Americana band whose bluesy, gutsy Gulf Coast sound - a fine mash-up of rock, country, blues and zydeco - has won them acclaims across many festivals in Europe.
There is a mandolin in the band but there's lots of electric instruments too making them a formidable rocking group as ROCK & REEL magazine observed:
"Spectacular musicianship throughout, such good time bands are, sadly, all too rare"
Described by Uk Magazine R2 as “one of Europe’s finest roots rock bands”, Lowlands “mercilessly mix and match roots, punk, folk and rock n roll music” (Rock Times, Germany). “Roots on the inside and grunge on the outside”, according to one French reviewer.
Lowlands was formed in Pavia, Italy by British born singer-songwriter Edward Abbiati. Hard to pigeonhole, their eclectic sound (a powerful mix of electric and acoustic guitars, piano, accordion, harmonica, bass and drums) has been compared to such diverse groups as Wilco, Whiskeytown, Soul Asylum and Green On Red.
Since debuting in 2008, the band has gone on to work with the likes of Chris Cavacas (Green On Red) whilst their 2012 album “BEYOND” was produced by Joey Huffman (Soul Asylum, Hank Williams Jr).
THE LUCKY STRIKES
From the Lower Thames Estuary, The Lucky Strikes formed in 2006 and have been described as “Blues/ Garage/ Americana, spaghetti-western, fiddle powered, howlin’, heavin’ rock and roll”, which they think fits pretty well.
With four albums so far released and a joint EP with Italy's finest, Lowlands, they have a truly eclectic back catalogue of songs.
