Neil McSweeney and Plantman

LEIGH-ON-SEA: The Fisherman's Chapel

SAT 18TH OCT, 2014 Doors 7.30pm

Squeezebox Folk in conjunction with Harbour Song Records present a very special evening of M G Boulter and Samantha Whates with friends.

M G Boulter and Samantha Whates are two singer songwriters who have joined together to release a new EP called The Boatswain’s Manual, a collection of songs about the seaside. They will be playing songs from the EP and their respective solo material at this very special night at the Fisherman’s Chapel, a Methodist church built for the cockling families of Leigh-on-Sea.

M G Boulter is best known as lead singer with The Lucky Strikes and released his solo album ‘The Water and the Wave’ last year. Samantha Whates is a Scottish songwriter who has worked with the likes of Kathryn Williams and Blue Rose Code.

They will be joined for the evening by Neil McSweeney, a Sheffield songwriter who’s album ‘Cargo’ became a great success following his support with Bellowhead last year and the sublime Plantman will be opening the show with his captivating show gaze songs from his album ‘The Whispering Trees’, which has cemented his place as one of the UK’s foremost alternative artists.

A very special night of national acts not to be missed.
