Walk to the Isis as fireworks explode all over Oxford, visible all around from the Isis towpath; Isis doors open at 6:30pm; at 8:30pm music starts in the Barn, with Rosie Caldecott (‘like sirens singing to you in a floatation tank’) and continues at 9:00pm with Moogieman and the Masochists (‘like Leonard Cohen for the Facebook generation’); at 9:30pm adjourn outside for a wee bonfire, and sparklers, and a jolly big firework; and at 10:00pm back to the Barn for James Bell and the Half Moon All Stars (James Bell and his 12-ish piece folk band who regularly play at the monthly Isis folk session. ‘Like nothing on earth’). Music ends at 11pm, but the bar is open until 11:45pm; Isis closes at 12:15am.
