Lithium Speed Dementia / EP Launch

0HARTLEPOOL: Studio
PThursday 19th June, 2008
N7:30pm

Event information

Lithium Speed Dementia were formed in early 2006, they are a three piece from Hartlepool in the north east of England. They've spent most of their time playing gigs in and around their home town building up a nice little following along the way.

In 2008 they hope to play further a field and extend their growing fan base.

'...a stand-out song, ‘Jack The Ripper’, a little slice of genius, which builds up like any classic indie anthem should...'
Martin Thompson, March 2008 Independent Music, Newcastle

'Their impeccable Americanised pop melodies, glided through the sea of pretty, happy faces, leaving me feeling like an extra in the OC, wanting to dance, get drunk and then sit in the corner with a friend, talking about how the world “doesn’t get me!” . . . the ghostly shape of “The Ripper.” Sang with the utmost intensity and emotion, this song continued to build and build until it reached a shuddering crescendo with the crowd chiming in with the lyrics “I feel so alive”: a perfect anthem indeed.'
Rebecca Fisher, April 2008 SHAM! Newcastle

The night's support bands include the incredible 'The Reverse' and indie powerpop/alternative band from Hartlepool destined for great things. 'The Rotten Thieves' a local up and coming punk band which are sure to be the next big thing, watch out for max and his trademark clothing and legendary stage dives. Also playing this night, is Danny Cook one of the most promising acoustic acts to have ever walked on stage in Hartlepool.
