Martin Newell is a writer, broadcaster and musician. After twenty years touring and recording with rock bands, he became a pop poet in 1990. First published in The Guardian in 1984, he wrote regularly for The Independent titles for 15 years before taking up his current post as poet-in-residence for The Sunday Express in 2005. He has previously published a dozen collections of verse and one pop memoir; This Little Ziggy. Now known nationally as a poet and internationally as a songwriter, he lives and works in Wivenhoe, Essex, where he has been for over three decades.

Jane Holland is the current Warwick Poet Laureate and writes varied poetry; covering subjects as diverse as motherhood, mysticism and the Middle Ages. Several of her poems have been published in national literary publications, including 'Poetry Review', 'Poetry London' and 'The Times Literary Supplement'.
Jane Holland founded 'Blade' in 1995 and was its editor until 1999.
She received an 'Eric Gregory Award' from the Society of Authors in 1996. A woman of many talents, she has also played snooker professionally and was once the 24th in the world.'
